The lovely shaped boat at the top is from the yard of the well known G.Percy Mitchell, and dates from the sixties. 'Bounty' was built for St. Mawes and lived most of her life on the South Coast, until she ended up on a Bristol Trading Estate, waiting for better times. The restoration brought back the original design of the wheelhouse, which had been extended at some time, giving more headroom but ruining the outlook. In this case the completely new superstructure was built in glass/epoxy covered plywood, as funds and time were in short supply to build a new mahogany one. Otherwise the hull was in surprisingly good condition, some minor niggles to be sorted out at a later date. The 24' boat turns out to be perfectly sized for someone who wants to do a little sea fishing or pottering around, with big enough accomodation for staying over comfortably and small enough to be easy on maintenance and mooring fees. A boat that just begs to be built again, and at a building price of around £40,000 (+VAT), depending on specifications, well worth it.

The fully varnished gentlemans launch 'Patience' came to us for a coat of varnish, and varnish is what she got, lots of it! Due to some of the surface preparation at the restoration a few years earlier this job turned out to be quite extensive.Since then she has come back every year for her spring clean-up. A little 30 ft jewel you hardly dare to use.
Very little wake, even at speed.
Surprising narrow beam compared to height
